PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Shippensburg University (2005).  Counselor certification from National Board for Certified Counselors, Inc. (2005).  My formal educational has prepared me to counsel individuals, parents, families, couples, children, and groups.

EXPERIENCE:
During my Master's program, under supervision, I gained experience in group and individual counseling with children adults, and families.  I have worked in the outpatient setting since 2005 counseling adults, children, and families.  Furthermore, I have worked as a crisis counselor and performed crisis intervention, on an as needed basis, with the Red Cross since 2005.

AREAS OF COMPETENCE:
Individual counseling, family counseling, and group therapy addressing grief issues, parenting issues, depression, anxiety, stress management, anger management, additional mental health issues, and crisis intervention.

COUNSELING APPROACH:
I view counseling from a cognitive-behavioral and person-centered philosophy.  I utilize a multi-modal approach in counseling which focuses on setting individual goals to address the needs of each person or family.

Master of Arts in Art Therapy, Marywood University (2002).  Pennsylvania Licensed Professional Counselor and Board Certified Art Therapist.  My formal education has prepared me to counsel individuals, parents, families, children, and groups.

EXPERIENCE:
I have worked in the outpatient setting since 2005 counseling adults and children.  I have been using art therapy since 2002 in the same setting.  Additionally, I have also been a Behavior Specialist and Mobile Therapist since 2002.  During this time, I have gained experience as an Art Therapist and I continue to focus my training and expertise in this modality for my work with children. I provide supervision to colleagues who are in need of clinical supervision toward obtaining their license in counseling.

AREAS OF COMPETENCE:
Individual counseling, children's issues, parenting issues, depression, anxiety, stress management, anger management, mental health issues, grief issues, and clinical supervision.

COUNSELING APPROACH:
I view counseling from and existential/person-centered philosophy.  I utilize a multi-modal approach to counseling which is holistic and focuses on the individual.  I employ my diverse training and integrate an array of therapeutic interventions that will yield optimum results for the individual and issues presented.
